It’s the end of our second full day…and we’ve just now had a moment to write a couple quick updates. I hope to post more tomorrow night. A lot has happened in just a short amount of time. This includes the tours at the Killing Fields and S21. Both providing history…and offering some insight into why things are the way they are. Today, Sunday, we worshiped at the Family Faith Center! Immediately, the was welcomed and incorporated into the worship service! Let’s see – besides our team, there was a missionary from Vietnam and the Philippines. There were your worship songs and message, but also a couple games, some chicken dancing, a baby dedication and birthday celebration. We walked away wanting more, knowing more and loving more. I’d tell you more, but you’ll have to wait to hear it in upcoming post. Stay tuned.

Below a couple team members share about stepping out of their comfort zone. -Connie Rock

I’m not a stranger to doing missions work. I am a stranger to doing overseas missions work. This being the first time doing overseas missions, God has already showed Himself in so many ways. My life has been blessed by this experience already and even more so the women I’m traveling with and those that we are ministering to are being blessed. There is much to share but not much time. One thing that God has done to stretch me out of my comfort zone is to be more bold in interacting with others. I’ve been praying over others more and stepping out to make small talk that can have a large impact. Today God pressed heavily upon me to pray for our Tuk Tuk driver and his family. Three of us joined hands in our Tuk Tuk and allowed God to move through our hearts. Seeds are planted. The seeds are being watered. In God’s time and His ways, He will be harvested!

It’s only been two full days and yet I’ve already seen God push me to the limit of my comfort zone. I hate praying out loud. It always makes me uncomfortable for some reason, specially with me not being a spur of the moment person. On this trip though, it’s been coming so easy for me.

I knew before I came that my heart would break for Cambodia. I was prepared for that. What people read and what we think we know is not really the case until you walk the road. David Livingston called it the Land of Darkness. Cambodia is a land of oppression and I’ve felt it in many places, but I’ve also felt the Holy Spirit. The best way to describe it is He is on the outside of this boundary and He’s testing the perimeter feeling it out for week spots so He can slip into it.
