Built in the early 12th century, it is common to see tourists, vendors, tuktuk drivers, Buddhist monks and children milling about Angkor Wat. 

After the genocide led by the Khmer Rouge where experts estimate 1.7 million people were killed, the country is extremely young with more than 50% of people being under 25 years old.
